Prototype & Design

Wallstreet G3, 250 MHz, DVD-ROM drive, 13.3" Screen.

The Story

Zack was built around the motherboard and screen of an Apple PowerBook G3 (Wallstreet). The person who build the original Lego case spent about $60 in Legos and displayed it at the MacHack conference in June 1998. That case was a bit bulky, so when he left the group, we invested another $20 (to get more 2x4x3 bricks, the base plates, and the cool space pieces) and rebuilt it. That case was better, but not as sturdy. The pictures you see on this site are of the third incarnation. It was actually completed in September of 1998, but we never got around to taking photographs of it then.
