Motor Scooters in iMac Colors Showcased at Tokyo Motor Show
October 28, 1999 (TOKYO) -- Honda Motor Co., Ltd. is exhibiting motor scooters in iMac and iBook colors at the 33rd Tokyo Motor Show being held at the Makuhari Messe in Makuhari, Chiba Prefecture, near Tokyo.
On display is the "Julio" prototype motor scooter with a translucent body that comes in three colors. blueberry, tangerine and strawberry. In addition, there are "Live Dio ZX" models in red, blue and yellow, as well as "Giorno-Crea Deluxe" models equipped with a 50cc four-stroke engine, the first by Honda. All of these models are translucent.
According to a Honda R&D center official, the company does not have plans to sell these translucent models on the market in the immediate future. However, it can mass-produce these models any time, except for the translucent Biorno-Crea model, he said.
Honda's prototypes "wouldn't have been made without the iMac models," the engineer said, indicating that the iMac is exerting an impact on motor-scooter designs.
