NEC Z1

Packard Bell NEC takes a page out of the iMac playbook with its new Z1 computer with integrated LCD panel.

By Carol Venezia — June 30, 1999

The colorful Apple iMacs have certainly proven that computers don't need to be beige to be complete, functional, well-integrated, and powerful machines. And starting later this summer, if you're a Windows PC loyalist, you can have an attractive all-in-one system of your own, with the Packard Bell NEC Z1. The unit will cost you a bit more than the traditional system-plus-CRT setup, at about $2,500 (street), but the Z1's space-age look just may be worth your price of admission.

Packard Bell NEC Z1. Street price: $2,500 as tested.
