Prototype & Design

In terms of audio engineering wizardry, these 20-watt all-digital Harman/Kardon speakers are totally off the charts. You’ll be astonished to hear bookshelf speaker sound booming out of units this small.

The same uncompromising, performance-driven approach that made the Power Mac G4 Cube possible — and the design esthetic that inspired it in the first place — went into engineering these all-digital beauties.

Spheres of influence
If we do say so ourselves, these powerful little spheres represent an epic feat of engineering. Because these speakers deliver on the vision of the Power Mac G4 Cube in every category. The digital Tripath amplifier belts out 20-watt sound (ten watts per channel) with a broad dynamic range, giving you the quality you’d expect of a large bookshelf-type speaker system in two small spheres that you can place on your desk — without hogging precious space.
The key to everything
The Power Mac G4 Cube comes with a 108-key Apple Pro Keyboard with 15 full-size function keys, full document navigation controls, full-size inverted T cursor keys, audio control keys and a disk-eject key. Lefty? No problem: the keyboard has a USB port on either side, so you can set it up for right — or left-handed mouse use and still have a port to plug in your digital camera, Palm OS-based handheld or other USB device.

Pro Mouse

The G4 Cube is also the first computer to come standard with the Apple Pro Mouse, for perfect precision on almost any surface. The optical tracking engine tracks movement 1500 times per second for pinpoint cursor control. It’s ultrasensitive, too. In fact, the entire surface is a button, ergonomically designed so you can rest your finger wherever it’s most comfortable. Since we’ve eliminated the mouse ball, you get a mouse that doesn’t skip, stick or need cleaning.
